Software Developers work closely with business partners and/or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions.The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm.Your Primary Responsibilities:Act as a technical expert on one or more applications used by DTCCWork with the Business System Analyst to ensure designs satisfy functional requirementsPartner with Infrastructure to identify and deploy efficient hosting environmentsTune application performance to eliminate and reduce issuesResearch and evaluate technical solutions consistent with DTCC technology standardsAlign risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to supervise and mitigate riskApply different software development methodologies dependent on project needsContribute expertise to the design of components or individual programs, and participate in the construction and functional testingSupport development teams, testing, troubleshooting, and production supportCreate applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirementsWork with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous deliveryQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or related field6+ years of related experienceTalents Needed for Success:Passion for technology, a curious mind, and an entrepreneurial attitude.Experience doing back-end and front-end application development.Hands-on experience in software development using Design Patterns, Java, Typescript, Java EE, Spring Boot, Angular 8+, JMS, REST API, PL/SQLFamiliar developing and running applications in Windows and Linux environmentsProven experience in using CI/CD tools especially GIT, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, JiraExperience using development tools: Visual Studio, IntelliJ, or Eclipse.Hands-on experience working with middleware like IBM MQ, Solace, Tomcat, Liberty server, WebSphere, WebLogic or JBoss application servers.Familiarity working with relational databases including DB2 or Oracle.Understanding and experience in different phases of the system development life cycle including analysis, development, and testingBasic understanding of software testing with Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma.Familiarity with different software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban)Nice to have skills:Experience with AWS (EC2, Kinesis, Route53, S3, CloudWatch)Experience with Kafka/SolaceExperience in the Financial industryExperience with SnowflakeExperience in MainframeIf and when a position becomes available, the salary range will be included on the job advert.
