Job Summary:
Responsible for coordinating the surgeons multiple schedules including clinic appointments, surgery schedule, administrative and academic schedules.
Coordinates with the surgical schedulers, as necessary.
Handles variety of administrative and clinic matters involving contact with various staff, patients, medical staff, government agencies, insurance carriers and the public.
Answers clinic telephones and addresses calls as appropriate.
Facilitates communication between the patients and surgeon.
Maintains open line of communication with the surgeon.
Obtains insurance authorizations and pre-certifications in accordance with insurance company policies as necessary. Must be able to attain authorizations through the appropriate websites and by calling the insurance companies directly.
Performs medical receptionist duties as necessary. Answers telephones, screens call, takes messages, and provides information.
Requests, locates, sends, and receives patient medical records.
Maintains files and assists in establishing office systems.
Completes insurance, disability and workers compensation forms.
Arranges appointments, meetings, and conferences.
Composes correspondence and disseminates to appropriate individuals.
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree or pertinent college level courses and two years of administrative/office management experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
