About the role
We are a fast growing Gen-AI startup seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Sales to join our team in NY, reporting directly to the Co-Founder/CRO of the company. We are a hybrid-work company, working in-office in NYC 4 days a week (and 1 day remote).
You will play a pivotal role in driving our revenue growth by leading, training and optimizing the performance of our sales team - across both Account Executives and Business Development. You will be responsible for creating and implementing world class B2B processes, and scaling the company while it experiences a rare momentum. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, results-driven executive to help take us to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Execute Sales Strategy:
Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company revenue goals and market expansion.
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a sales team of 5-10 existing employees, both AEs and SDRs, while scaling the team in the coming months and years, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring individual and team success.
Revenue Growth:
Drive new business sales and expand existing customer relationships to increase company revenue.
Market Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, understand the competitive landscape, and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
Customer Relationships:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales Operations:
Oversee sales operations, including pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting to ensure accurate and timely business insights.
Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to market challenges and opportunities.
Performance Metrics:
Set performance targets, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve sales objectives.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise B2B SaaS sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in a company selling an Enterprise solution (ACV over $50k with multiple 6 or 7 figures deal spearheaded).
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of marketing and generative AI sectors and experience in MarTech - highly preferred; the ultimate candidate will have 3+ years experience in selling a software product to CMO, VP Marketing or Director of Content/Brand/performance marketing personas.
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to hire, train, lead and inspire a sales team, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strategic Thinking:
Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and influence key stakeholders.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Customer Focus:
Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building lasting relationships.
