Job Introduction
This is a US remote role, with a preference for candidates based in the Boston area.
Invetx, a division of Dechra , is a veterinary biotechnology company focused on developing protein-based therapeutics for chronic conditions in companion animals, with an emphasis on monoclonal antibodies
(mAbs) . Our proprietary innovation platform integrates leading industry technologies to create species-specific, half-life extended mAbs that are longer-lasting, safe, effective, and more affordable than current treatments. The role holder will lead business operations, financial planning and reporting and portfolio management of Invetx in alignment with the overall corporate strategy and goals of Dechra.Main Responsibilities
Plan and execute the Invetx project portfolio and strategies
Oversee project planning and execution including timelines and financial planning
Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies
Develop strategic scenarios for individual programs and the overall portfolio to facilitate decision making and risk management
Manage the Invetx budget, project budgets and reporting in collaboration with Finance
Plan internal and external resource requirements in collaboration with HR
Track milestones and KPIs
Work in close collaboration with the President of Invetx, the Invetx Leadership Team as well as the Board, and the scientific and executive committees of Dechra
Partner with senior leaders across Dechra to define and optimize processes for efficient project and portfolio management
Coordinate internal as well as 3rd party partnerships and collaborations
The Ideal Candidate
Science Degree (BSc, DVM or equivalent) or other relevant degrees
10+ years of experience in relevant roles (e.g. R&D leadership roles, Portfolio Management, Business Strategy, Operational Management) within pharma, biotech and/or Animal Health industries
Extensive experience in portfolio management and project planning in a relevant setting
Proven track record leading finance, strategy and value creation in a pharmaceutical business and/or R&D organisation
Experience in coordinating internal and external resources and collaborations
Excellent cross-functional, cross-cultural collaboration and communication skills
Passionate about Animal Health and getting new and innovative veterinary medicines to market.
Travel to potential partner companies, Invetx office (Boston, MA), investor and industry meetings and events, and other locations as required
Domestic (US) and international travel as required, variable - 25-50%
