What started as the largest denim launch in history has evolved into an iconic and inclusive fashion line of denim, ready-to-wear, swim, shoes, and activewear. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Sr Director of Merchandising is responsible for creating a product strategy that meets or exceeds sales volume and customer expectations for all selling channels while appropriately representing the vision of the brand. This position takes a proactive approach in steering the merchandising journey from crafting seasonal line plan architecture to ensuring the final product execution aligns with the desired consumer on-floor experience.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive product merchandising strategy utilizing a data-driven approach to analyze customer behavior and develop consumer-centric product strategies and experiences across all channels. Monitor market and internal trends to ensure the Good American merchandising strategy is competitive and consumer-centric. Conduct market research to analyze and identify opportunities for growth and improvement in the product category portfolio. Maintain the integrity of key items/franchise through lifecycle management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, production, and sales to ensure alignment and consistency from product strategy to messaging and positioning. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and workflows to increase efficiency and productivity within the department. Provide merchant leadership and mentorship to foster a supportive, productive, and highly collaborative team environment. Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 7-10 years of Merchandising experience. Possess a combination of strategic vision and operational know-how with a customer-focused attitude. Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, while also having the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to demonstrate excellent analytical skills and a good understanding of omnichannel retail and wholesale business. Enterprise leadership with proven talent management and development. Refined taste level and ability to forecast consumer trends.
