Regional Director of Operations
is to assist the Vice President with the overall operations of properties within the Vice President's division and region. This position is responsible for results and assists the Vice President with the development and execution of strategies that will support, strengthen, and grow Hotel Operations. Responsibilities include driving service excellence, developing and executing plans to improve performance, and working closely with the Vice Presidents of Finance, Sales, Revenue Management, and Human Resources to assess and drive overall performance while maintaining positive owner relationships.This position will oversee General Managers and property-level Executive Committee members to meet and exceed the strategic goals of the organization.ResponsibilitiesOperationalDevelop and execute strategic operational and financial initiatives, ensuring all objectives are met.Oversee communication to customers related to the long-term vision and strategies, ensuring timely and proactive communications to all stakeholders.Assist and direct property leadership in revenue growth, market share performance, and sales initiatives in coordination with the corporate support team.Partner with the Vice President of Operations on strategies to proactively react to market changes.Maintain trained and effective General Managers and ensure proper staffing of all Executive-level positions.Act as a mentor to the property Executive Committee, fostering High Potential leaders.Work with VPO, corporate team members, and properties to maximize revenues and profits.Support strategies to enhance guest experiences and improve guest survey results.Promote a positive, thriving culture to achieve employer of choice status.Infuse properties with a culture reflecting the organization’s values.Develop and enhance operational SOPs for the Collection.Ensure properties follow brand standards and Sage initiatives.Participate in company and community relations and corporate activities.Provide leadership oversight on special projects, transitions, and new property openings.Ensure implementation of Sage SOPs, financial systems, HR initiatives, and culture immersion at new and transition properties.Create innovative solutions that result in market differentiators.Perform any other assignments as directed by the organization or leadership.Ownership ManagementAct as the liaison with property owners, ensuring proactive communications.Understand ownership agreements for all properties.Ensure management agreement obligations are met.Review ownership needs and expectations periodically.PlanningPartner with VPO on strategic planning and business initiatives.Set up long-term strategies from a staffing and service perspective.Oversee communication related to long-term vision and strategies.Coordinate annual business planning and budgeting for each property.Implement succession planning within each direct report.Identify high potential candidates for future opportunities.Provide efficient ways to deliver services to hotels and owners.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIESAll other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.SUPERVISORY DUTIESOversee 4+ property General Managers and the Corporate Collection Team.QualificationsEducation/Formal TrainingBachelor's or master’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business Administration preferred.Experience5-10 years of GM responsibility experience; field and corporate experience preferred; multi-unit oversight Area/Regional GM experience preferred.Knowledge/SkillsAdvanced knowledge of hotel operations, leadership, and corporate environment; ability to execute corporate, owner, and brand initiatives; ability to influence all levels of the organization; proven ability in building strong teams; excellent communication skills.Physical DemandsAbility to travel at least 20% of the time; ability to work under pressure and deadlines; ability to spend extended periods at a computer.Eligible to participate in Sage bonus plan; unlimited paid time off; eligible for the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching; health savings and flexible spending accounts; company-paid short-term disability; paid FMLA leave; employee assistance program; great discounts on hotels, restaurants, and more; eligible for the Employee Referral Bonus Program.The application period will be open for approximately 30 days or until a suitable candidate is identified.
