Location:Fayetteville, NC 28304 - OnsiteLanguage Requirements:Write, read, and speak English fluentlyLanguage Preference:N/AJob Overview:The Primary Care Physician will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of veterans by providing them with high-quality healthcare services in the Primary Care team setting which include both outpatient scheduled and unscheduled Veterans. You'll be e responsible for clinic appointments and follow-up of labs/imaging/procedures ordered during these appointments, interpretation, phone call consultation from hospitalists and intensivists on inpatients, and availability for case review with nurse practitioners on service – all this will provide the chance to utilize and further develop your clinical skills in a fast-paced environment. With an estimated 95% of your time spent in direct patient care, you'll gain valuable experience and expertise in managing a diverse range of patient cases. The position requires candidates who are technically proficient and committed to upholding the highest standards of care. By meeting the government's requirements, including maintaining current licensure, certifications, and adherence to ethical standards, you'll be part of a team dedicated to providing top-notch healthcare services to our nation's veterans. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurse practitioners, hospitalists, and intensivists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Collaboration and communication are key components of our approach to healthcare delivery. Additionally, you will perform other duties as assigned. Providing Family Practice and interventional Family Practice consultative services for assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to veterans in the Primary Care team setting; outpatient include both scheduled and unscheduled Veterans.Clinic appointments and their follow-up and interpretation of labs/imaging/procedures ordered during these appointments
Ordering and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriateRecommending treatment and/or referral accordingly.Record/document health appraisal information, clinical assessments, treatment decision, plan of care, ongoing management and therapeutic outcomes, ordering/prescribing medications, and diagnostic test and referral consultations.Handling phone call consultations from hospitalists and intensivists on inpatientsExperience in case review with nurse practitioners on serviceExperience Preferences:N/APhysical Requirements:Ability to lift 35+ lbs., per OSHA recommendationsEducation Requirements:Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of ColumbiaCertified by the American Board of Family PracticeCertified in VHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalencyAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications from the American Heart Association
