The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability, and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia, is in search of an Audit and Compliance Officer. This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Lottery and Gaming (OLG), Regulation and Oversight Division. The incumbent is responsible for administering the OLG's regulatory compliance programs, managing the compliance and audit staff, and establishing, reviewing, and maintaining auditing and compliance programs for the District of Columbia's sports wagering industry.
Duties include, but are not limited to:Reviewing and making recommendations to the OLG's executive staff regarding the approval of sports wagering operators' Internal Control Systems.Providing the Director of Sports Wagering Regulation & Oversight and Executive Director with compliance statuses relating to OLG's regulatory requirements.Supervising and monitoring the implementation of sports wagering operator's internal control policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.Developing audit procedures for all relevant OLG departments.Assisting in the periodic review, update, and implementation of compliance programs.Assigning work, determining workflows, and reviewing and evaluating subordinates' work performance.Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Five (5) years of progressive experience performing related duties and responsibilities such as coordinating, planning, and conducting compliance and financial audits; developing and monitoring internal controls to identify risks and deficiencies; reviewing and analyzing audit findings for the purpose of implementing corrective actions; and gaming and/or directing the work of lower-level staff. Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license.
In addition, applicants must have a bachelor's degree earned at an accredited U.S. institution in accounting or a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. This can include up to six (6) hours of business law. Applicants must submit an official transcript that verifies a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and 24 semester credit hours in accounting in order to be considered. If applicable, your application package must include a foreign credential course-by-course evaluation of all foreign transcripts. Acceptable foreign credential equivalency reports must be provided by organizations that have current membership with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).
