Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000City Experiences is seeking a Human Resources Manager for our Human Resources operations.About You:This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.About the Opportunity:The Human Resources Manager (HRM) will lead employee retention efforts, collaborating with all departments to foster an optimal work environment through clear communication and strategic advisement on company policies and programs. The HRM will oversee administrative, operational, and project deliverables while balancing legal compliance. The HRM provides pragmatic and objective feedback to the management team that aligns with the organizational priorities, employee retention goals, and current employment best practices. The HRM reports to the Senior HR Director and partners with Operations managers in problem solving and implementing solutions that support the business. The HRM will also serve as the go-to resource for any human resource matters and is expected to maintain an HR presence that ensures HR matters are addressed timely and appropriately. The role provides ongoing input to help shape the HR goals and improvement strategies to create amazing employee experiences. A successful HRM will be a champion of change and transformation by being adaptable, dynamic, and results driven. The HRM must embody and exemplify City Experiences' RESPECT Service System. Adherence to confidentiality requirements of the role & team information is expected.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for managing daily human resources operations, working directly with General Manager (GM) and Port Operations Management.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Maintain HR presence and approachable demeanor with employees and management.Implement new HR Policies, company initiatives, or other applicable internal/external HR-related requirements.Champion recruitment strategy and staffing process for port through effective planning, compliant job descriptions/postings/requisitions, hiring events and interview, and pre-hire process management.Oversee the internal position change process (transfers and promotions).Participate in developing HR department goals, objectives, and systems; implement/operationalize HR strategies.Act as a company culture ambassador.Conduct 1:1 and round table discussions with employees to solicit feedback regularly and communicate to port management to support employee engagement.Coach, train, and advise operations management on coaching/disciplinary action practices to help effectively manage fair/consistent performance and support positive business results.Collaborate with Marine Operations leadership to fulfill United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations for licenses, certifications, training, and marine program requirements.Manage execution of federally regulated Drug and Alcohol Programs including random, post-accident, and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.Communicate with employees and management timely and professionally through all mediums as applicable, including but not limited to email, phone, text, teams, etc. as approved by Company policy.Interpret and advise employees regarding company policies/procedures and benefits.Manage employee engagement efforts - communication/feedback, surveys, reporting, and action planning.Collaborate with Operations management recognition efforts (birthdays, anniversaries, company events, etc.).Manage unemployment claims process by utilizing Equifax to support claims and hearings.Oversee and manage HRIS data entry to ensure orderly and accurate electronic filing of employee files & documentation in the HRIS system and in accordance with payroll schedules.Maintain employee communication boards with applicable employment law posters to meet legal regulations and employee information needs.Establish routines to maintain effective HR operations for assigned port.Facilitate New Hire Orientation and other HR related training presentations.Collaborate with the Learning & Development Team as applicable for training and development opportunities.Track and manage all leave benefits in accordance with state and federal compliance, including company paid leave and short-term disability.Lead local benefits administration efforts in collaboration with the shared service Benefits Team including managing open enrollment.Oversee completion of annual HR/Legal compliance training through the Learning Management System (LMS).Track all training in the LMS system and licenses/certifications in the HRIS System.Oversee internal communications within port to ensure timely & effective message delivery from the top down.Manage and execute employee separation and off-boarding processes, including proper internal approvals and documentation.Effectively consults with all employees through listening objectively and practicing conflict resolution that supports positive business results.Conduct employee investigations - hold interviews, prepare investigation summary reports, and provide recommended next steps to Senior HR Director and Operations management.Respond and support management for urgent employee relations matters in a timely manner.Additional job duties as assigned.Requirements & Qualifications:Minimum 3-5 years of prior HR experience required.Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, SPHR/PHR certification preferred.Hospitality, restaurant, travel/tourism experience preferred.Strong understanding of state, federal and local California employment laws.Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills to successfully work across the company.Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Previous experience with HRIS and Payroll systems, UKG or Dayforce preferred.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Solid verbal and written communication skills.Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.Flexible and adaptable to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.Quick-learner, creative, and strategic thinker.Team player and can work independently.Initiative and drive to provide solutions to solve problems quickly.About Us:City Experiences' passion is to provide amazing experiences on land and water.
