The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America and airport. The 320-room luxury hotel features more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space.Job Description: Responsible for ensuring proper set up and service of all banquet functions, supervising all banquet associates to ensure guest satisfaction, and maintain service standards. This is a leadership role responsible for training associates to deliver prompt, courteous service in compliance with Omni food and beverage standards and company policies.Responsibilities:Coordinates functions with service staff and Chef.Ensures guest satisfaction through effective supervision and delegation of functions, checks on food quality and courteous performance of entire banquet staff.Establishes high standards of quality service and maintains them through effective training and continuous upgrading.Briefs banquet staff on functions and procedure of service.Represents hotel management at functions.Creates banquet staff schedules and manages payroll processes.Determines set-ups in conjunction with the hotel's catering sales team.Maintains equipment and pars levels to provide luxury service.Maintains records, reports, closing reports and payroll costs.Inspects function rooms and collaborates with other departments for repairs and upkeep.Adapts to business fluctuations while maximizing profits in the department.Stays updated on new food and wine trends.Sets the pace and a good example for a successful quality operation.Prepares for and conducts departmental meetings.Uses Synergy and Epitome Reports to relay guest concerns to other departments.Qualifications:4 plus years of previous Banquet experience in hotel setting; luxury experience strongly preferred.Bachelor's Degree required.Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, able to perform professionally under high levels of stress.Exceptional people skills and customer service skills.Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.ServSafe Alcohol certified.Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time, push, pull, stoop, bend and lift items of moderate weight.Working Environment:
Interior and exterior of property, depending on location of events. Exposure to various hazardous chemicals and food items.Tools & Equipment:
