The Country Store is the retail division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified local agricultural supply cooperative. The company was founded in Burlington, WA in 1934. We have grown and developed into four business divisions: agronomy, retail, energy, and wholesale distribution & milling. Our mission is to serve the community to preserve and enhance the viability of the agriculture economy.Our Country Stores provide quality goods and services for all “Farm-Pet-Home” needs! We operate 10 locations in Washington and Montana.

Develop and build strong relationships with current customers while pursuing and growing business with new customers.Seek out business-to-business opportunities with farms, agricultural operations, breeders, kennels, boarding facilities and other companies related to the farm, feed and pet industries.Clearly articulate to the benefits of our products and added value of our services.Consult on feed and nutrition, fertilizer, pasture management and other opportunities to promote and sell the company’s products to accommodate lifestyles and businesses.Perform soil and hay sampling.Represent the company to various consumer groups, including but not limited to: FFA, 4-H, livestock & pet groups & clubs, local fairs, etc.Promote and participate in the administration of the company’s loyalty and youth support programs.Ensure that client records are complete, accurate and submitted on time.Make sales calls and safely deliver merchandise among customer and other company locations.Assist in or conduct product training and informational presentations for employees and customers.Demonstrate the desire to become an expert in the industry.Attend trade association meetings and educational opportunities.Collaborate with others to attain product knowledge and assist in determining optimal product mixes.Gather and communicate information on market trends, local competition and prevalent industry and business climate within the region.Exhibit an ability to get along with others.Perform other duties as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.Three years of experience in either the equine or livestock industries.Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers.Commitment to high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Professional appearance and demeanor.Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds.Experience working with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams.Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree of higher education in business or agriculture.One to three years of sales or related professional experience.A high degree of knowledge in most aspects of our main products lines (livestock, equine, pet, lawn & garden, pasture management, fencing).SCHEDULE
This is a full time, 40 hours per week position, typically Monday – Friday; however, evenings and/or weekends may be required as needed.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$20.00 – $25.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
