Discover what to expect during your journey as a candidate with us.As a big data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your skills and experience to implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.Here, you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll sharpen your skills in analytical exploration and data examination while you support the assessment, design, developing, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.You Have:2+ years of experience with using programming languages, including C++, Java, or Python
2+ years of experience with messaging protocols, including RTMP, MQTT, and AMQP
Experience with designing and developing highly scalable and fault-tolerant streaming data pipelines and applications
Experience with collecting, transforming, and storing streams of data from various sources, including databases, sensors, mobile devices, and web apps
Experience with building batch data pipelines to complement real-time streaming pipelines
Experience with monitoring and optimizing data streaming applications for performance, stability, and security continuously
Experience with implementing processes for failure recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery of streaming applications
Experience in working closely with software engineers, data scientists, and business teams to comprehend streaming data needs and requirements
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:2+ years of experience with Enterprise or Cloud IT
Experience with AWS services, including Amazon Aurora or PostgreSQL, Amazon RedShift, AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Kinesis, and Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS)
Experience in building and deploying capabilities as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with AWS CDK, and AWS CloudFormation
Experience with using continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows low to high across commercial and non-commercial AWS environments
Knowledge of architectural implications of meeting industry standards, including ICD 503, NIST 800-53, and FEDRAMP
Ability to lead effectively across organizations
Possession of excellent verbal and written communications skills
AWS Certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, and AWS Certified Database
Clearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.CompensationSalary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
