The Capital One Privacy Compliance team is seeking a Compliance Privacy Director with a passion for mitigating privacy risk at a dynamic, data-driven, tech-focused finance institution. The Compliance Privacy Director will join our Privacy Compliance team which oversees compliance with applicable federal and state Privacy laws and regulations. The Compliance Privacy Director is responsible for delivering quality results and providing sound compliance and privacy risk advice to business lines as a subject matter expert.Specific responsibilities include:Analyze business initiatives, including new products and processes, to determine whether they comply with applicable privacy laws and regulationsExercise sound judgment to effectively assess and balance risk in the provision of compliance advice to the businessMaintain expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, keeping up with and advising the business on current developmentsRegularly interact with business partners, both 1:1 and in group settings, to influence processes, procedures, and controlsAssess the impact and advise on remediation of breakdowns or findings, including consumer complaintsActively engage with others within the department, including other subject matter experts and transaction testing team membersIdentify trends in compliance data and proactively advise on identified internal and external risksEnsure team fulfills on expectations and deliverables under the compliance management programCapital One recruits leaders with strategic, action-oriented styles who are gifted at building strong relationships across the enterprise, catalyzing change, and making great things happen.
