Project Engineer II - Land Development

RK&K is hiring motivated and detail-oriented Land Development Project Engineers to join our team of skilled professionals in Baltimore, MD. As a Land Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing innovative solutions for our private, institutional, municipal, state, and federal clients, contributing to the development and enhancement of communities. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in civil engineering principles, possess an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, and be proficient in using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
Essential FunctionsDevelop construction documents, expedite permits, and support construction phase services on multi-disciplinary teams.Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other team members to design and develop site plans, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and standards.Utilize CADD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and related software to create detailed drawings, layouts, and models for stormwater drainage, erosion and sediment control, land development, and utilities design projects.Conduct site investigations and assessments to gather necessary data for the design process.Develop innovative and sustainable solutions for site development projects, considering factors such as stormwater management, grading, utility systems, and environmental impact.Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and feasibility studies to support project proposals and submissions.Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for site development projects.Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements, progress, and design solutions.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of site development designs with other project components.Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices to enhance the quality of project deliverables.
Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.Four (4) to Eight (8) years' experience in civil, land, and site development including coordination with permitting agencies.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Hydraflow Hydrographs, and Civil 3D software for site design and drafting.Experience with ArcGIS.Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and design standards.Experience in grading, stormwater management, drainage design, erosion and sediment control, land development, and utilities design for private, institutional, and/or municipal clients.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.Ability to advance multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards in the field of site development.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Preferred Skills and ExperienceProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license.
