Overview
Job PurposeA QA Engineer candidate must be a self-motivated individual who has a proven history of delivering high quality test results and is able to thrive in a fast-pace environment. This role requires frequent interaction with Project Managers, Product Managers, Software Developers and Database Administrators. The candidate will be tasked with understanding business and system requirements, database schemas, writing and executing test scenarios and logging and tracking defects when necessary. The candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong knowledge of software testing, including functional, regression, and system testing. The candidate will be expected to have strong SQL knowledge and is able to do data analyses.ResponsibilitiesReviewing business and functional requirements to produce a test strategy and test cases.Develop, execute and maintain test cases for new and existing application featuresReport bugs, help manage the bug triage process and ensure all issues are handled efficientlyProvide timely status updates and assist the team in making decisions about release readinessParticipate in all aspects of a full-lifecycle development methodology, and related quality concepts and processesPerforms troubleshooting software / hardware configuration problemsExposed to automation test execution and automation test script maintenanceIdentifies and resolves escalations with emphasis on root cause analysisCommunicates plans and status efficiently and helps to ensures team is on track for all testing effortsKnowledge and ExperienceComputer Science or related degree3+ years' experience in reviewing product requirements and design, creating test plans, and testing distributed web based applications3+ years' Web-based GUI testing for Java/J2EE applications using data driven test methodologiesExperience using ALM or similar test management toolsExperience programming in Python or JavaExperience working in UNIX/Linux and SQL/Oracle environmentsExperience working with test automation toolsComfortable with test automation execution and maintenanceSolid understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies a plusAbility to work independently and productively under pressureStrong problem-solving, analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skillsTrack record of completing assignments on time with a high degree of qualityAbility to set priorities and multi-task in a fast paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and decision making abilityExperience on Financial Option Model analysis a plusScheduleThis role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
