We are seeking an experienced Director of IT & Security to lead and oversee our IT infrastructure, drive policy development, and execute IT and security protocols that protect our organization's assets and data. This role will be responsible for managing technical operations, ensuring robust system integrations, and establishing comprehensive policies that support security, compliance, and operational excellence across all departments. This role is pivotal in driving the IT strategy, optimizing system performance, and scaling our technology infrastructure to meet growing business demands. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IT management, infrastructure design, cybersecurity, and technical leadership. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential to collaborate with cross-functional teams and align IT operations with business goals.
Responsibilities:Develop and execute the organization's comprehensive IT strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals to enhance scalability, performance, and security posture.Oversee all systems administration across the United States and the United Kingdom, managing new technology deployment, integration, and provisioning with a strong emphasis on enabling employees while meeting security best practices and mitigating risk.Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity protocols to safeguard IT assets, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and data protection laws, including GDPR. This involves conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments.Oversee SOC 2 compliance for the IT organization, ensuring that all necessary controls and processes are in place to meet the requirements and maintain certification.Mentor and manage IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence, while emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity awareness and compliance with data protection regulations.Ensure the organization adheres to IT compliance regulations, including GDPR, and proactively manage IT-related risks. Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies to safeguard against potential data breaches and system failures.Organize and oversee regular penetration testing to proactively identify and address potential vulnerabilities within our internal systems. This includes coordinating with external vendors and internal teams to execute thorough testing, analyzing results to assess risk levels, and implementing corrective actions to enhance our overall security posture.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data privacy and security measures are integrated into all aspects of IT operations, promoting a holistic approach to risk management.Minimum Requirements:
Must be based in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.8+ years of experience in IT management, infrastructure design, or related fields, with a proven track record of successfully scaling IT systems in rapidly growing organizations, particularly with a focus on security.Extensive experience overseeing complex IT infrastructure, including cloud services, networking, and cybersecurity, with specific knowledge of data protection regulations such as GDPR and hands-on experience managing SOC 2 compliance.Demonstrated ability to lead IT teams, manage large-scale projects, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated security measures.Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a focus on proactive problem-solving, risk management, and optimizing IT performance.Expertise with administration execution platforms such as; JumpCloud, Google Workspace, and Jira. Along with a solid understanding of security tools and practices related to these platforms.Proficiency in Mac and Linux operating systems, with experience troubleshooting and supporting software and hardware across these platforms.Preferred Experience:
Preferred Experience: Proficiency in scripting for integrations between different systems, with a strong understanding of API usage, automation tools, and data synchronization techniques.Experience with GitHub Actions and Workflows.Experience with Apple Business Manager (ABM), including device deployment, management, and configuration for large organizations. Expertise in utilizing ABM for managing devices, apps, and accounts within an enterprise environment.Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to configure, monitor, and secure mobile devices across various platforms.Proven experience in leading and coordinating SOC2 audits, including preparing necessary documentation, facilitating audit processes, and collaborating with auditors to ensure the organization meets the requirements for SOC2 certification.JumpCloud Core certification.
