About the Opportunity As an Education Services Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing projects and educational programs annually, as well as implementing adult learner educational initiatives that leverage the unique platforms and resources of PBS and PBS North Carolina (PBS NC). You will collaborate closely with educators, educational trainers, and community stakeholders to ensure PBS NC adult learner educational programs are impactful, inclusive, and aligned with the mission to educate and inspire adult learners across North Carolina. Responsibilities include:
Project and Program Management: This position is responsible for the implementation and execution of diverse educational programs, including on-the-ground events, workshops, training sessions, and presentations for preschool through 12th-grade educators and administrators in North Carolina. The role involves using evaluative data to tailor training and educational experiences to meet the specific needs of clients and communities, while overseeing budget and resource management.Curriculum Development for Adult Learners and Educators: Oversee the creation and implementation of educational materials, curriculum guides, and resources that align with PBS NC's educational standards and goals. Ensure content is engaging, accurate, and accessible to diverse audiences.Program and Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute multiple educational programs, workshops, and events simultaneously. Manage Education Services budgets, typically exceeding $1 million, ensuring that timelines are adhered to, and resources are allocated effectively. Administer programs and projects in accordance with funding parameters, including federal reporting requirements. Utilize metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure and enhance the effectiveness and impact of educational programs.Partner Coordination: Act as the primary communication liaison for Education Services partners. Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, community organizations, and stakeholders to support collaborative opportunities that extend the program's reach and impact.This position will work onsite at PBS NC headquarters 3 days per week and travel statewide up to 10-20% each month, including some nights and weekends with flexible hours. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Minimum Education, Experience, and SkillsMaster's degree in education, special education, instructional design, educational technology, educational media, or related discipline with coursework in curriculum development or learning theory; or a Bachelor's degree in the assigned discipline and two years of experience in teaching, educational testing, or instructional design and curriculum development; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Competencies • Experience in adult learning theories and working with adult learners; strong understanding of educational trends, standards, and best practices• Excellent Communication Skills: Proven ability in written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal interactions• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with team members, and meet deadlines• Budget and Resource Management: Working knowledge of non-profit budget management, resource allocation, and strong business acumen• Program and Event Management: Demonstrated experience in managing programs, projects, and events• Onsite and Travel Requirements: Ability to work onsite at PBS NC headquarters 3 days per week and willingness to travel statewide up to 10-20% each month, including some nights and weekends with flexible hours
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience leading a team of adult educators, with a background in high school, continuing education, or higher education settings• Curriculum Development: Proven expertise in curriculum development and/or experience as an instructional coach• Public Media Knowledge: Familiarity with or experience in public media's mission to educate and inform diverse audiences
