Sr. Director, IT Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic leader for our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure to support data center operations, a deep understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, and a proven track record of driving strategic initiatives. This role requires a visionary leader who can align IT infrastructure with applications/data, business goals, optimize performance, and ensure highest levels of security and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of IT operations. Align IT infrastructure initiatives with the company's overall business strategy and objectives.Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services. Ensure the infrastructure is scalable, resilient, and capable of supporting the company's growth. This includes infrastructure for new builds along with existing data center sites.End User Computing and Service Desk:
Be responsible for end-user computing and the service desk, ensuring that all employees have the tools and support they need to perform their jobs effectively.Performance Monitoring:
Monitor the performance of IT infrastructure and implement improvements as needed. Use metrics and analytics to track the effectiveness of infrastructure initiatives and make data-driven decisions.Incident Management:
Lead incident management efforts to quickly resolve any IT issues that arise, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to excel in their roles.Budget and Vendor Management:
Manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships to optimize costs and performance. Negotiate with vendors to secure the best terms and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.Security and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Implement robust security measures to protect the company's data and infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.Innovation and Technology:
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation within the organization. Evaluate and implement new technologies that can enhance the company's infrastructure and provide a competitive edge.Collaboration:
Work closely with Data Center Operations (business teams) to ensure that the underlying IT servers and network at data centers work effectively. Collaborate with other departments, including customer success, physical security, global service desk to ensure IT infrastructure aligns with business goals and objectives.Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the availability and integrity of IT services in the event of disruption. Conduct regular testing and updates to these plans.Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, including data centers, networks, servers, storage, and cloud services. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.Proven success in working with a senior leadership team in a demanding, fast-paced and high-quality environment.Flexibility and adaptability to manage concurrent, multiple projects while maintaining focus on critical deadlines.Strong leadership and team management skills.Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans.Experience with budget management and vendor negotiations.Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to handle confidential matters with discretion.Ability to develop, lead, motivate and supervise project teams.Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.Specific Technical Qualifications:
Network Architecture:
Expertise in designing and managing complex network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and SD-WAN.Cloud Services:
Proficiency in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience with hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration strategies.Virtualization:
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).Storage Solutions:
Experience with various storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage solutions.Security:
Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, and identity management.Disaster Recovery:
Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.Monitoring and Management Tools:
Proficiency with IT infrastructure monitoring and management tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, or Splunk.Automation:
Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python) to streamline IT operations.Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Formal Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred
