Job Summary
The Linux Administrator is responsible for managing Linux-based application administration, including tasks such as installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and performance optimization. The role involves leading the design and implementation of application architecture, ensuring system availability, and managing automation and scheduling tools. The Linux Administrator will work closely with network and server teams, utilizing extensive Linux experience to support enterprise-level environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, deploy, automate, monitor, and optimize application performance on Linux platforms
• Lead application architecture design to ensure support for business needs
• Perform OS upgrades, patching, and batch automation on Linux servers
• Develop automation mechanisms for deploying configuration changes across environments
• Utilize enterprise scheduling tools (e.g., Automate Schedule, Skybot, GoAnywhere) for job scheduling and Managed File Transfer (MFT) tasks
• Collaborate with network and server teams to troubleshoot issues, providing logs as needed
• Manage Tomcat installations, Apache web servers, load balancers, DNS setup, and configuration
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Linux administration experience, with extensive skills in managing enterprise Linux servers
• Experience with OS upgrades, patching, and batch automation
• Proficiency with enterprise scheduling tools, such as Automate Schedule, Skybot, GoAnywhere, or similar tools
• Strong knowledge of application performance tuning and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
• AWS cloud certification with knowledge of EC2, Autoscaling, CloudFormation, and Chef (or other automation tools)
• Experience in managing Tomcat, Apache web servers, load balancers, and DNS setup
