The Role
Jupiter Power is looking for a Director of Accounting Operations who will be a key financial leader, responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting across multiple legal entities for our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting in a complex, fast-paced growth environment, with specific experience in the energy sector preferred. The Director of Accounting Operations will ensure financials are recorded in compliance with GAAP, oversee Accounts Payable and the month end process, support strategic initiatives, and maintain compliance with all requirements. This position will provide leadership and mentoring to a team of accounting professionals.
Responsibilities
Oversee Jupiter's Accounting Operations function, including processes and procedures adequate for achieving Jupiter's goals and objectives and maintenance of the chart of accounts and a system of controls over accounting transactionsMaintain documentation of Jupiter's accounting policies and proceduresEnsure timely and efficient processes for closing the general ledger on a monthly basis, reviewing and approving journal entries and ensuring transactions are coded accuratelyEnsure accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and all reasonable discounts takenEnsure periodic bank reconciliations are completedEnsure accounts receivable are collected promptlyManage the timely and accurate issuance of draw packages under our financing facilitiesManage accounting and financial systems including General Ledger , Accounts Payable, Company Expenses Reimbursement, and maintain full and accurate accounting records, working with team members throughout the organizationDrive continual improvement and streamline processes using standardization and automation to scale the business.Manage bank accounts, activities, fees and fluctuations, month end reconciliations, and maintain banking relationshipsOversee daily tasks of the Accounting team and provide leadership and guidance on day-to-day activities and unforeseen challengesPlan and implement special projects as neededHelp provide and prepare information for reports in a timely mannerAssist in preparation for the annual audits and tax returnsOther duties as assignedJupiter seeks individuals eager to develop their core professional knowledge, learn new areas of the business and take on additional responsibilities within Jupiter's dynamic team. Bachelor degree in Accounting or related fieldMaster's degree and/or CPA preferred8+ years of accounting experience with 1+ years of supervisory experience
Physical requirements and environment:
This role is office-based with limited travel required. There will be a minimum in-office requirement of three days per week. Candidates will be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, and must be able to lift up to ten pounds repetitively.
Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation and may be subject to drug tests as a condition of employment.
