Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator will assist with the daily operations of the Volunteer Department at Aging True. This includes recruiting, training, assigning, and supervising individual volunteers and volunteer groups to specific duties and tasks designed to provide essential services to accomplish the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
Qualifications/Requirements:Minimum a bachelor's degree from accredited university.Volunteer recruitment and management experience is preferred.Proficient in Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Must submit to Department of Elderly Affairs background check and drug screening.Valid driver's license and safe driving recordEssential Functions:
Assists with organizing volunteer activities associated with Aging True programs and clients.Identifies new volunteers who are willing to provide essential services to clients.Oversees and assists in recruiting, screening, and supervising of training for each new volunteer for the agency.Maintains a comprehensive volunteer database.Obtains accurate information to establish a confidential volunteer record for each volunteer. Records are maintained on each individual and updated regularly.Function as liaison to resolve problems or disputes between clients, volunteers, or others to facilitate service activities.Compiles and collect documentation on volunteer service activities to accurately account for volunteer time.Oversees and assist in matching each volunteer to job assignment and client based on objective criteria, including skills, interest, and appropriate training.Compiles monthly, quarterly, and special reports as required by funders.Makes public appearances and participate in publicity events to promote volunteer activities, as necessary.Implements and monitors quality assurance procedures to determine effectiveness of volunteer activities and client satisfaction.Implements orientation and training procedures in compliance with guidelines of services as required by funders.Schedules regular orientation and in-service training sessions for all volunteers.Documents and records training achievements of volunteers in volunteer records.Identify and develop additional community resources to assist in training effort.In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator will assist the Director of Volunteer Programs in oversight and management of the volunteer program, including:
Assessing organizational needs and capacity for volunteersCreating volunteer program materials (policies and procedures, applications, volunteer agreements, orientation handbooks)Strategic planningProgram evaluationYearly budgetary requirements of the departmentWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time. May require sitting at a computer for up to eight hours per day.The person in this position must be able to constantly move about inside the office and out in the community.Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.The person in this position constantly communicates with clients and volunteers regarding questions and inquiries. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.The person in this position must occasionally move or transport large amounts of materials to off-site training and outreach locations.Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions and in meal drop site locationsAnyone with these skills that are interested in a challenging and highly rewarding work experience where every day provides an opportunity for growth is encouraged to submit a resume.
