Terms and Conditions: Full-time, 12-month position (Level 4)
Salary: $19.71/hour, per the Support Staff Union Agreement.

Essential Duties:Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all times, including the removal of snow.Maintains floors.Cleans and disinfects washrooms/locker rooms.Removes all trash to appropriate exterior receptacles.Provides support for all lunch periods that includes, but is not limited to, washing and disinfecting all lunch tables as well as sweeping the floor between, during, and after each lunch period, depending on assigned schedule.Provides principal with reports on job completions and damage to school property, and takes appropriate action.Assumes responsibility for building maintenance in the event of personnel issues.Performs light to moderate lifting.Assists in creating a positive school atmosphere.Assumes responsibility for securing and/or closing of the building depending on assigned schedule.Assumes responsibility for building security during all night functions, depending on assigned schedule.Performs other duties as assigned by administration or designee.
Experience:Experience not required, but preferredQualifications:
Excellent communication and organizational skillsHave a high standard, staying organized, and being a team-playerPleasant personality that understands and is able to successfully deal with the behavior of childrenDemonstrates a general aptitude for electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentrySuch alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and necessaryThe ability to travel between buildings. 3 buildings in total within a small geographic area based on the department needs.Must have a valid driver's license and be flexible to be able to travel between all facilities as required or needed.Must be required to contact the facility principal or any maintenance staff member with any issues that need immediate attention or any type of emergency.
Knowledge (Paid Training Provided):Various hand cleaning equipment such as brooms, dust pans, wet mops, dry mops, dusters, pails and bucketsVarious light equipment such as all types of ladders, furniture dollies, supply dollies, mop bucketsVarious heavy equipment such as wet/dry vacuums, vacuum cleaners, walk behind, riding, swing and burnishing floor machines and a carpet extractor machine.
