Cytologist - Anatomic Pathology

The Department of Pathology is seeking a Cytologist to perform a variety of laboratory procedures such as recognition, identification, and interpretation of detailed morphologic features of normal and atypical cells from various body sites. This position is 100% time, Monday-Friday, 1st shift.
Duties to include:
• Performs microscopic examination of slides on Cytologic specimens including gyn, non-gyn and FNA's rendering preliminary and final Cytologic impression.
• Performs specimen procedures for gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and histologic specimens as needed.
• Ensures the lab is in compliance with all regulations of accrediting agencies.
• Follows guidelines for quality control.
• Provides cytotechnology orientation to other professional personnel and pathology residents as requested.

Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited cytotechnology program is required.
• Registered or eligible for registration by the American Society of Clinical Pathology is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in communication, working well with others, and experience working in a health center are desired.
