Job Duties
Virginia Correctional Enterprises (VCE) is a manufacturing and service agency that is focused on providing meaningful jobs and work skills for offenders and offering quality goods and services to our customers. For more information on our products, services and locations visit govce.net The purpose of position is to analyzes, compiles and reports on financial data pertaining to VCE's inventory and manufacturing operations in accordance with GAAP and sound business practices. This position also develops and reviews departmental budgets and actual expenditures which aides' management in determining the overall efficiency and effectiveness of its operations.
Probationary Period: If hired by VCE you will start or restart a 12-month probationary period. This is for all New Hires, Transfers, returning State Employees.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid driver's license and high school diploma or GED. At least 2 years of accounting experience is required. Considerable knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The occupant of this position must be able to analyze complex manufacturing activities and must be familiar with MS Word, Excel and have automated accounting system experience. Effective written and oral communication skills are required. Strong time management skills are required.
