We are looking for a Systems Test Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, assembling, and commissioning test assets of our next generation Electrical VTOL aircraft Energy Storage and Power Systems (ESPS).
Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an
onsite
opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain View and Fremont offices.
What you will do:
Lead the development and implementation of battery component and system level test campaigns, including battery performance and manufacturing end-of-line testingReview schematics and datasheets of various electrical components and hardware on the battery pack from internal teams and external vendorsDevelop test automation scripts and Graphical User Interface (GUI) on LabVIEW and/or PythonDevelop wiring diagrams and create harness drawingsTroubleshoot and repair electrical and software issues on the test assetsAutomate test execution, data collection and post-processing to increase test cadence and reporting, ease operation and safetyWork closely with a cross functional team to develop test requirements and test plansDesign mechanical and electrical test fixtures used for PCBA and component level power electronics and battery testingSelect and integrate transducers and data acquisition devices into test assetsWrite test specifications, operation manuals and test proceduresRequirements:
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline5+ years of relevant work experienceExperience working with high voltage battery systemsKnowledge of batteries, battery management systems and/or power electronicsExperience interpreting PCB Schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and component datasheetsProficiency with LabVIEW and/or PythonExperience integrating off-the-shelf test equipment (power supplies, electronic loads, etc.) and DAQs into test setupsExperience working with I2C, SPI and/or RS-485 protocolsExperience with data acquisition devices (NI, Keysight, LabJack) and transducersHands-on experience designing and assembling tests assets or stations for entirely new hardwareStrong interpersonal and communication skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environmentDesired:
Proficiency with CAD software (NX preferred)Familiar with drafting standards, including GD&T, and can interpret or create engineering drawingsFamiliarity with aviation test standards including DO-311, DO-160 and MIL-810Hands on experience with machine shop equipmentExperience with executing abuse tests on Li-ion batteriesExperience with using battery cyclersExperience with working with facility upgradesWho you are:

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $136,000 - $160,100 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
