Job Description:

This person is responsible for strategically managing the following functional areas: oversight of payroll and benefits, employee relations, employee events, and the development of policies/ procedures. This person works closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This person should have a bachelor's degree in a related field, plus seven years of work-related experience or the equivalent. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills are a must. Attention to detail and writing aptitudes are necessary, along with a strong problem-solving skill set. Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult issues is essential. Strong understanding of employment law is needed. SHRM- CP or PHR is preferred.

PRINICPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1). Lead the team and develop an atmosphere of teamwork, open communication and unity. Provide oversight of all services offered. Actively mentor staff and ensure they are trained, evaluated, and motivated to perform their responsibilities in an effective and progressive manner.

2). Serve as the main point of contact for employee relations matters, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts and providing guidance to both employees and managers. This includes providing support to managers in handling disciplinary actions and terminations ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.

3). Direct the management of payroll and employe benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave programs. Ensuring their effectiveness in meeting the overall strategic plan for the corporation. Identify process improvements, enhance efficiency, and ensure high levels of service delivery to employees.

4). Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and internal policies related to employee relations, payroll, and benefits. Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards.

5). Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and best practices.

6). Prepare reports and present findings related to employee relations trends, payroll, and benefits performance.

7). Coordinate with external vendors and consultants as needed to ensure optimal performance of benefits and payroll systems.

8). Oversee various events in support of employee morale, including Employee Appreciation Week and corporate celebrations.

9). Attend meetings, read literature, and generally keep informed of current regulations, practices, and trends.

10). Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.

11). Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required compliance training.
