Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Director, Product Quality is responsible for quality oversight of the Bloomington, MN facility and the Inspection Business Unit. The Bloomington facility develops and manufactures advanced precision inspection and metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry.
This position requires hands-on engagement in all aspects of product quality, manufacturing quality, and customer support. As a leader, you will be expected to drive effective problem-solving, continuous improvement strategies and proactive solutions to assure best-in-class quality performance.
Participate in the product lifecycle management process for Bloomington products. Ensure risk mitigation and continual improvement by leading FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and lessons-learned efforts.
Lead the corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) efforts for Out of Box Quality and customer failures. Organize and lead cross functional teams for effective problem solving. Ensure timely response to customer Failure Analysis requests.
Continually review manufacturing processes, including final assembly and test, to ensure outgoing products meet requirements.
Lead Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) for inspection of incoming parts and outgoing systems to meet quality requirements and specifications.
Support the Materials Review Board (MRB) process with timely dispositioning.
Collaborate cross-functionally across Development, Operations, and Service in order to develop and drive continuous quality improvement plans consistent with the quality strategy.
Ensure all quality initiatives are conducted in line with business requirements.
For all quality processes, collect data and monitor metrics to drive continual improvement. Maintain internal process metrics. Track and communicate quality metrics to executive management.
Manage the internal audit program, lead internal audits to assure compliance with the Onto Quality Management System.
Develop, maintain, and continually improve local procedures consistent with corporate processes and with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
Coordinate and support 3rd party ISO certification/surveillance audits and customer audits, driving resolution of findings.
Demonstrate expertise, train staff and advise real-time in problem-solving and root cause/corrective action processes.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bloomington, MN.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline. Master's degree is preferred.
15 years of experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.
7 years of experience in a quality role, and 5 years in a management role.
Proven leadership skills and ability to influence individuals at all levels.
Demonstrated technical and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills: written, verbal and presentation.
Adaptability and ability to operate in fast-paced and high-complexity environments.
Lean Six Sigma experience, including working knowledge of FMEA, 8d, and Kaizen.
Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is a plus.
Quality Auditor certification is a plus.
