Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
A manufacturing company specializing in premium labels is seeking a dedicated Material Handler. The ideal candidate will manage materials, understand job tickets and layouts, and produce high-quality products. This role requires executing plan schedules accurately to maximize throughput, coordinating workflow with associates, and maintaining performance metrics. The Material Handler will also complete required documentation promptly and safely operate material moving equipment. Additional responsibilities include equipment maintenance, job tracking, payroll entry, waste disposal, and compliance with facility safety policies.
Responsibilities
Understand and execute plan schedules accurately to maximize throughput.
Coordinate workflow with all associates.
Maintain performance metrics at or above average.
Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
Safely operate material moving equipment.
Assist in maintaining equipment for optimal operation, including adjustments and preventative maintenance.
Enter information into systems for job tracking and payroll.
Dispose of waste materials into proper storage containers and identify containers with required documentation.
Comply with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations (e.g., GMP, HAACP, BRC).
Interact and behave professionally, treating all associates with respect.
Maintain daily housekeeping efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Experience in warehouse, material handling, inventory, shipping, and receiving.
Forklift operation and material handling.
Ability to read and understand job tickets and layouts.
Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements.
Correctable vision to 20/20 and ability to differentiate colors.
Ability to input data into a computer.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.
Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Minimum of 1.5 years experience in manufacturing or distribution.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Print shop experience is helpful but not required.
Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods.
Physical ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
Capability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach, push, pull, and use hands and fingers.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to stoop, squat, crawl, and kneel as needed.
Average job tenure of 1.5+ years in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications.

Work Environment
This position is based at a manufacturing site with over 150 employees. The environment includes loud machinery, requiring the use of hair nets, beard nets, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel-toed shoes. A back safety belt and steel-toed shoes are mandatory. Jewelry is not allowed. The facility operates on multiple shifts: A Shift (3 AM - 3 PM, Sunday-Tuesday or Sunday-Wednesday), B Shift (3 PM - 3 AM, Sunday-Tuesday or Sunday-Wednesday), C Shift (3 AM - 3 PM, Wednesday-Saturday or Thursday-Saturday), and D Shift (3 PM - 3 AM, Wednesday-Saturday or Thursday-Saturday). Starting November 24th, the schedule will include Day Shift (5 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday-Friday), Swing Shift (1 PM - 9:30 PM, Monday-Friday), and Night Shift (9 PM - 5:30 AM, Sunday-Thursday).
