Material Handler / 1st shiftMetals USA has an immediate opening for a Material Handler / 1st Shift in our Oakwood, GA facility. The Material Handler / 1st shift, under limited supervision, performs duties related to the storage and movement of inventory or equipment; reports to Group Leader /Shift Supervisor.Hourly Rate: starting at $20/hr + depending on experience.Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locationsTags materials for proper identificationPulls and assembles customer orders in order of deliveryOperates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailersOperates cranes to load/unload trailersOperates forklift (5k or 10k) to load/unload trailersSecuring loaded material onto truck and may load and unload materialsCompletes and documents production and quality paperwork; follow shop system data collection procedures.Performs tasks that include grinding and using an oxy fuel torchMaintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner, including the return of tools and equipment to designated areas.Assures all machine operation centers are timely loaded with material for productionNotifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries.Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a Material Handler.Restocks materialMetals USA offers a competitive starting salary and benefits plus upward mobility professional growth.Metals USA provides equal employment & affirmative action opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status or disability.Metals USA is committed to protecting our employees by creating and maintaining a workplace free of substance abuse.High School Graduate or GEDBasic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractionsAbility to comprehend oral and written communicationProficient measuring skills and the ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers, and calipersAbility to stand for long periods of timeAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and documents, blueprintsIndustrial warehouse experience preferredExperience working with Heavy Equipment preferredOverhead Crane/forklift experience requiredDetail oriented with ability to inspect material for qualityMust pass pre-employment drug screen
