N Position Type Management JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Sr Director of Corporate Networks, this position is focused on delivering network services and solutions that ensure the best experience possible for Marriott Associates and contractors. Working with technologies including SDWAN, fabric-based LANs, AI enabled solutions, the successful candidate will provide senior technical engagement focused on creating new secure network solutions, improving installed services, and optimizing day to day operations. CANDIDATE PROFILE Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field experience/certification 7+ years' experience as a Network Engineer with 7 or more years in a hands-on role implementing engineering standards, documenting engineering designs, providing level 3 escalation support, and ensuring operational excellence and policy compliance with the following expertise: Extensive experience in the design, implementation and operation of WAN, LAN, and WiFi networks with a focus on mission-critical, customer-facing applications and services Technical knowledge of networking with an emphasis on software-defined networks (SDN), network security and firewalls, WiFi solutions, security design (intrusion detection and prevention), DNS, network tools & management Technical knowledge of common routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, etc), IPv6, VPN, etc. across a global distributed network; hands-on experience with common routing and switching platforms Technical knowledge and experience with telco and ISP networks, ensuring diversity and managing availability Demonstrated experience in delivering written documents detailing network solutions and diagrams Ability to work non-standard hours during change implementations and service restoration efforts Other Skills and Attributes Optimization of network operations processes and information security and privacy compliance programs Experience leveraging automation, AI and machine learning to deploy and manage networks Experience with writing applications to support network automation or working with Network DevOps/SRE teams Understanding of cloud networking solutions and cloud interconnects Vendor experience: Cisco LAN/WAN/WiFi; Juniper/Mist WiFi; Palo Alto Networks FW and SDWAN; NetScout, ThousandEyes, NetMRI, ServiceNow Strong inter-personal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with other non-Network technical teams and non-technical customers Core Work Activities LAN/WAN/WiFi network design, engineering, implementation, and operational optimization for the Corporate Network product, adhering to all applicable standards including architecture, security, privacy, compliance, etc. Network service and circuit capacity management Project planning and delivery including hardware and software specification, vendor coordination, and full operational turnover Change planning and run book review Governance of third-party service providers L3 escalation support for operational issues and/or outages Collaborate with other key teams including Network Architects, Test and Certification, Information Security, Finance, Procurement, etc. Participate in product strategy and planning Develop and execute new initiatives to simplify, standardize, optimize, and automate the network designs, tooling, and operations, reducing implementation cycle times, minimizing/eliminating service downtime, and optimizing performance The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $179,270 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
