Join our tax team as a seasonal tax preparer and sharpen your skills while staying connected to the industry year-round. This role offers flexibility, with work during peak seasons and the potential to become a recurring seasonal team member annually.

As a tax preparer, you will primarily review tax returns based on your experience and may provide other basic accounting services, depending on your background. A successful Tax Preparer will:Prepare individual federal and state income tax returnsVerify past tax forms for accuracyCalculate and invoice form preparation fees per firm policy as returns are preparedFrequently interface with client personnel to review and apply accounting and tax principlesContact clients by phone or email to gather necessary informationReview files to ensure that they possess the necessary signatures, contain the necessary supporting documentation, and comply with filing due datesObtain proper filing extensions when necessaryPerform detailed review on tax returns, research, and compliance work with an emphasis on calculations, accounting theory, and tax law compliance, depending on experiencePerform all work in compliance with the firm's policies and proceduresMaintain the highest level of confidentiality, personal and ethical standardsMaintain technical tax skills through on the job training and participation in internal tax training sessionsOther duties may be assignedQualifications

2 or 4-year accounting degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required1-2 plus years of tax return review experience preferred but not requiredCPA, JD, or EA license preferred but not requiredPrior experience with a public accounting and/or professional services firm preferredStrong analytical skills to enable effective decision-makingSolid written and oral communication skillsMust have, or be able to obtain, a PTIN and continuing tax education
