We assist dental practices that are facing non-clinical challenges by providing them with industry-proven non-clinical business support services.We are looking for professional staff who can join a collaborative and motivated team that provides non-clinical support functions to an affiliated network of dentists. These professionals have critical roles in assisting with non-clinical services across a broad network of affiliated dental practices.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:The duties of an EFDA may include all of those of a typical dental assistant. The expanded functions that EFDAs are allowed to perform in a dental office are dictated by each state's dentistry board.Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment proceduresCapturing quality dental radiographs (x-rays)patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatmentPerform efficient and accurate procedures as directed by the Dentist and Hygienist, while maintaining the schedule and patient flowOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Carryout infection control protocol- preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipmentProviding patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, as directed by DoctorWith the direction of the Dentist, educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)Taking impressions of patient's teeth for study castsEnthusiastic communication with patients and suppliersOffice responsibilities as directed by the Office Manager (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing, and ordering supplies)REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or equivalentExpanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate where state regulations specifyX-Ray Certification where state regulations specifyPrior Experience with a dental management software - Dentrix preferredQUALIFICATIONSExcellent interpersonal skillsProven dedication to provide high-quality, comprehensive chairside careAbility to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environmentStrong working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practicesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: General Office Activities as RequiredGood manual dexterityBend or twist their body.Sit/Stand for long periodsThe above statements are intended to provide a general overview and level of work being performed by most people assigned to this job.
