We’re seeking a future team member for the role of

Director, Wealth Manager

to join our Wealth Management team. This role is located in San Francisco, CA - Hybrid.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

The Sr. Principal Wealth Manager is a senior leader and highly experienced wealth management professional who can interact and build a trusted advisor relationship with the firm’s largest, most sophisticated, and complex clients.

Responsible for providing comprehensive wealth management advice and solutions using BNY’s Active Wealth framework: Invest, Borrow, Spend, Manage, Protect.

Wealth Manager is accountable for bringing new, larger clients to the firm ($10m+), and effectively servicing, managing, retaining, and growing existing client relationships.

WM will also collaborate with opportunities sourced by Client Strategists to win new business.

Wealth Manager serves as primary advisor and manages large and complex client relationships with dedicated, high performing support team (Associate Wealth Manager and Analyst).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Articulation of BNY Wealth Management’s Active Wealth framework and implementation of firm’s best investment thinking

Adoption of BNY’s digital and client service tools (Wealth Online, Net Worth Statements, Advice Path, etc.)

Analyzing client balance sheets for unrealized opportunities and/or optimization

Collaborating and leveraging expertise from other functional team members and BNY investment professionals to ensure that all firm capabilities are provided to our clients.

The Director will have self-sourced AUM and Private Banking Deposit/Loan goals and may serve on national/regional investment or practice group committees.

Active Wealth Management and Client Service- Frequent proactive interaction with clients, including multiple in-person client meetings per year.

Serve as clients’ primary point of contact to BNY and responsible for ensuring that all firm resources are provided to clients using the Active Wealth framework.

Business development- Demonstrate a business-development orientation and mindset.

Annual self-sourced goals and are expected to be met by leveraging strong existing client and Centre of Influence relationships by consistently and systematically asking for referrals.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Advanced/graduate degree preferred.

Additional industry designations and certifications are a plus (CFP, CFA, etc.).

10+ years of financial industry experience preferred, primarily managing larger, more complex client relationships. Demonstrable experience and network within in high-net-worth client space and with advisors who support this level of sophisticated clients (T&E attorneys, M&A attorneys, Corporate Attorneys, HNW CPAs).

Experience working in a highly detail oriented and fast paced environment.

Strong technological proficiency and adoption of firm’s digital tools is required.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $128,200 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.Employer Description:
