Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.As part of a small leadership team, you'll play a meaningful role in the architecture, development, integration and verification/validation of all the software for the New Glenn rocket system. This is a very hands-on role where your job will evolve alongside the lifecycle of the software used both on and off the vehicle. We're looking for an engineer, a leader with excellent technical and communication skills with experience in feedback control systems and methods for verifying and validating safety critical software. You'll be able to influence system-level aspects of the software design, ensuring that we're building a streamlined and verifiable software solution. A successful candidate has the skills to work at a system level as well as dive into technical areas to resolve issues as they arise. Launch vehicles today are hierarchical systems of software systems, and this is role is pivotal in qualifying the entire system for flight.Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. degree aerospace engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or related technical discipline
2+ years of applicable, professional experience
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Hands-on experience with development, integration, & test of deployed software
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. or PhD in computer science, engineering or related technical discipline
Experience with feedback control systems & fault tolerant architectures
Experience in the full lifecycle development of aerospace systems, including requirement definition, design solution definition, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning and operation
Able to identify problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Experience with aerospace vehicles (e.g., Boeing 787, 777x, Orion) and model-based design (MBD) methodologies leading to certification of human spaceflight systems
Compensation Range for:WA applicants is $109,980.00-$153,972.00
