The Communication Systems directorate creates some of the most cutting edge products across the enterprise and the security software team plays a very large role. We develop innovative solutions that keep our military members safe, connected and informed. Our team has some of the most knowledgeable experts in the industry and work with the latest technologies in embedded software development.

Our team is looking for a Cybersecurity Software Engineer. As an engineer on our team you will be involved in the development of state-of-the-art cryptographic solutions by implementing embedded software communications protocols, security mechanisms, encryption algorithms, and/or secure storage software for our sophisticated software defined radios that enable pilots and soldiers to securely transfer data, voice and imagery over the air. We work with the NSA to ensure our crypto products meet security needs for helicopters, fighter jets, outer space, and Air Force One.

We do a lot of work in C++, C, Python and embedded Linux so an understanding of these areas will help you come up to speed quickly.

What You Will Do:Design and develop embedded software solutionsWork collaboratively in a team create to solve our customers' unique and interesting needsSupport requirement generation, software implementation, test case development, and verification effortsIntegrate multi-threaded C and C++ software code bases.Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experienceThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is requiredU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceQualifications We Prefer:

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
