Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D2063000 and is part of the HI JFHQ G4, National Guard. LOCATION: Joint Forces Headquarters, G4, Hawaii Army National Guard, Kapolei, Hawaii Responsibilities SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to function as the Property Book NCO and the Assistant Logistics NCO. Under the technical direction of the Property Book Officer or senior logistics NCO, this position accomplishes work performed in the areas of property management and logistics. Responsible for providing technical assistance to subordinate elements, the headquarters logistics section, and other staff sections concerning property accountability, logistics management, and maintenance management. Assists subordinates in the research, review, and reconstruction of supply transactions to isolate errors and provide guidance to correct deficiencies. Coordinates with supported organizations to accomplish exchange of information on the status of shipments, reports, equipment, etc. Performs random reviews of subordinate organization expendable/durable requisitions. Prepares or reviews convoy requests and transportation requests for movement of equipment and personnel. Prepares or assists in the preparation of ammunition requests. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: If your resume does not include a narrative description of how you meet the GENERAL, SPECIALIZED experiences, and OTHER requirements, you may lose consideration for this position. Ensure that the Questionnaire is completed on Application Manager. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is primarily sedentary, however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items and/or files. No special physical demands required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical work is performed indoors in an environment involving everyday risks. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5. MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY POSITION: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to an appropriate military position and must meet the definition of a dual status technician in accordance with 32 U S C 709. NOTES TO CANDIDATES: a. Situations of inversion of military rank are not permitted, i.e., a military technician may not be militarily senior to his or her full-time supervisor. b. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted only after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Hawaii National Guard. c. In addition to your application, documents of last performance appraisal, past civilian performance, letter of recommendations, and or military performance may be submitted. d. Candidates may be screened and evaluated on military attributes directly related to the compatible military position required to be assigned into, such as, but not limited to, military bearing, leadership, or ability to work with others (teamwork) in a military environment. e. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). f. Cost of living allowances (COLA) vary from island to island. COLA is subject to change without notice. l. This temporary limited appointment may be converted to a non-temporary appointment without further competition. m. If you are selected for this position, you will be eligible for health and life insurance and you will be covered under a retirement system. o. This type of appointment is expected to extend beyond one year, not to exceed 4 years. Separation will be preceded by a 30-day notice when services are no longer needed. Permanent technicians will remain on permanent status if selected. p. Selectee informed in advance of the reasons for and conditions of this temporary promotion may return to his/her former grade when temporary action is no longer needed and may be effected at any time without adverse action procedures. q. Temporary promotion may be extended for an additional two years, not-to-exceed four year, with National Guard Bureau approval. r. Should the need for temporary time limitations placed on this position no longer exist, the Temporary Promotion may be converted to a permanent action without further competition. Education There are no educational requirements for this position.
