The Contribution You'll bring to this Role:
Justrite Safety Group is seeking a Buyer Planner to work onsite from our Mattoon, IL location. This role is responsible for developing and executing demand plans to ensure timely replenishment for fulfillment centers and distribution. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, driving supply chain efficiency, and supporting overall business operations through effective demand forecasting and collaboration with internal teams.

team, you'll have the opportunity to work with industry-leading suppliers and logistics partners, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of products that keep our customers safe. Our supply chain team is dedicated to optimizing processes, reducing lead times, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to meet our high standards of quality and reliability. What You'll Do at Justrite:
Execute the planning, scheduling, and coordination of inventory replenishment for business unit distribution centers.
Ensures proper flow of inbound materials to meet production and customer requirements. Uses reporting tools and ERP to determine inventory trends and adjust safety stock, order points and order quantities
Records Management: Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications. Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files, reports and price lists. Compare supplier's bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy. Enters Daily receiving into the system.
Commodity Management: Monitor in-house non-inventory supplies Handle Kanban releases and perform buying duties to ensure flow of inbound material. Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs. Manages Commodities as assigned by Purchasing Manager. Find opportunities to improve PPV by finding better suppliers in-term of cost, quality control, delivery, inventory turns and reliability. Track commodities price trend and maintain records. Resolves purchasing problems between departments and vendors; manages expediting on needed product and past due parts to meet production/ operational needs.
Collects and monitors supplier on time delivery metrics to ensure consistent performance that meets requirements and demands of the fulfillment schedule.
Participates in daily management huddles and meetings to support business needs.
Participate in managing plant budget, which includes controlling, material costs, inbound and outbound freight, inventory variance and obsolescence expenses.
Actively participates in creating cost savings opportunities and formally tracks and reports these opportunities monthly. Reviews and analyzes purchased product and raw material costs and cost trends. Creates monthly report of Purchase Price Variance for inbound materials, purchased inventory, and supplies.
Report on forecast accuracy and analyze data to determine root cause of error in an effort for continuous improvement.
Assist with the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of the demand model.
Develop independent demand forecast models for multiple domestic and international fulfillment centers that drive supply chain planning processes.
Work with materials, warehouse logistics, inventory levels, increase inventory turns.
Suppliers primarily based in China, Europe, Brazil and the US - Must be able to manage lead times (batch shipping) in the demand model.
Report OTD and Fill Rate metrics to Executive Leadership and Perform Root Cause & Corrective Action analysis to drive Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
Your Skills and Expertise:
To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:
4+ years' experience as a scheduler, demand planner, or buyer
Experience demand planning and executing purchase requisitions based upon both MRP and MIN/MAX based planning systems
Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate price and delivery requirements with a global supply base
Understanding of continuous improvement principles and methods, including Kanban, Point of Use (POUS) material, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, etc.
Strong Excel skills strongly desired (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills
Strong forecasting and modeling ability, an analytical mind that can assist in minimizing disruptions.
Ability to work in a team environment; assertive, persuasive, and diplomatic.
Ability to prioritize and organize a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Cost understanding is important Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyze information and develop recommendations.
MRO Buying a plus
B.A. /B. S preferred, and or other field related or equivalent work experience.
Compensation:
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $70,000 to $75,000.
Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
