The Lead provides leadership to the department/shift of a designated area. Uses the established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all Supply ChainTechnicians and support staff in the delivery of routine and non-routine supplies during their assigned shift. The Lead also assumes Supply Chain responsibilities during their shift. The Supply Chain Technician lead is responsible for supply activities including checking par levels of specified areas, delivering supplies to replenish pars, filling and delivery of requisition requests, replenishing Code Carts, keying activities into the Purchasing Inventory System. Assists in receiving, tagging and stocking supplies in designated storage areas. Assures that all storage areas are maintained in clean and orderly fashion.
Some post-secondary education is preferred. Must be able to read and write the equivalent of eighth grade English.
Two (2) years of Supply Chain and/ or Medical Supplies Buyer experience in a healthcare setting is required. One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Must have some advanced mathematical ability as it relates to healthcare inventory (i.e. cc, mg) and bulk distribution and inventory calculations. Understands the correlation of the Supply Chain Technician function in the delivery of quality patient care and the ability to provide continuous services.
