Job Description
The Senior Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting our device software development and product environment. This position works within and across multiple multi-disciplinary teams to create and advance Omnicell's line of robotics and automation devices.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the analysis, design, programming, optimizing, debugging, and modification of software programs and firmware for hardware deviceWrites code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming language and technologies interacting and controlling hardwareDevelops automated tests for software codeDesign, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated software deliveryCollaborate with cross-functional teams for solutions, training, and documentationCollaborate with software quality engineers during all phases of testingPerform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issuesGuides software development team through coaching sessions or mentorshipLead the Scrum Team using Agile practices and principlesCollaborates with Project Managers to ensure requirements are met and delivered accuratelyAble to effectively provide reasonable estimates for project timelines from design until deliveryParticipate in project review meetings to provide updates on progress.Required Knowledge and Skills
C++ with embedded software developmentUnderstanding of TCP/IP communication protocols and computer networkingProficiency with Git and GitHub workflowsGood understanding of the principles and best practices in Software Development including Agile, and Scrum methodologiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood communication skillsBasic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.12 + years of experience in software developmentPreferred Qualifications
Experience with Linux Operating systemsExperience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering roleUnderstanding of electro-mechanical (robotic) systemsHealthcare or Medical Device software development experienceExperience with creating build automationKnowledge of Linux systemWork Conditions
