Job Overview: Nest Communities is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will support the staff with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and record-keeping. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in property management accounting and to grow within the company.
Key Responsibilities:Assist with maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and account reconciliations.Prepare financial statements and reportsProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.Help with month-end and year-end closing procedures.Support tax preparation and audit processes.Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles.Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.Communicate with vendors and tenants to resolve payment discrepancies.Perform administrative tasks related to accounting as needed.Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in progress).1-2 years of accounting experience preferred,Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar) is a plus.Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred).Strong proficiency in Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel and other Google/MS Office tools.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Experience in property management accounting or familiarity with utility billing processes.AppFolio CRM preferred but not requiredEagerness to learn and grow professionally in the accounting field.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
