Network Engineer II under direction of the Senior Manager, Network Infrastructure will be a part of our dynamic network operations team overseeing datacenter, cloud, and branch network engineering at Convey. The Network Engineer II will provide support of the production/sub-production environments and develop tactical and strategic enhancements to the Convey network. The successful candidate will engage and interact with all levels of technical and business organizational hierarchy to facilitate the delivery of a consistent and reliable network environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Engineer's role is to ensure the stability and integrity of data, video, remote access, B2B connectivity, voice over IP and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), network security (firewalls, IDS, NAC), load balancing, identity services, and cloud connectivity across the organization.
The Network Engineer will lead and participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links, and routing protocols. This individual will also monitor, analyze, and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. Configure, implement, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, cloud assets, and wireless networks. Develop standard configuration for devices, upgrades, modifications using scripting and automation. Collaborate with management and department leaders to assess, design, and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements. Manage existing hardware, identify, and budget for replacements, plan and execute hardware refresh. Participate in managing all network security solutions including Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco ACI, F5 load balancers, and Duo. Optimize dynamic routing strategy and identify areas of improvement. Audit and assess existing failover, HA, and network redundancy strategies. Assist the Manager in developing a robust documentation program. Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry. Requirements
BA degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 7 years of experience in a network support environment and a minimum of 5 years supporting enterprise data networks. 5 years of network administration experience including the configuration of Cisco ASA and FirePower firewalls, Routers and Switches. 5 years of network administration experience including the configuration of Palo Alto Firewalls. 5 years of network administration experience including the configuration of F5 Load Balancers. Experience working with a team of 5+ network resources as part of a larger cross-functional IT Operations and Infrastructure department. Cisco Certification CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent experience is preferred.
