At Light & Wonder, it's all about the games, and our Gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.Position SummaryThe Senior Advanced Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development, prototyping, production, and maintenance of electro-mechanical products within L&W's gaming division. The focus of this role is on designing components such as sheet metal, die-castings, and injection-molded parts.Essential Job Functions:Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, components, and systems for L&W gaming products.Create and refine parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software, balancing factors like functionality, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability.Apply expertise in die-casting and injection molding part design, along with a deep understanding of associated tooling processes.Generate mechanical drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly procedures, and other essential documentation for product release.Evaluate prototypes and designs, recommending improvements through hands-on assembly and testing.Collaborate with key engineers and stakeholders across various divisions and companies, effectively negotiating and resolving critical issues.Employ creativity, foresight, and engineering judgment to anticipate challenges, set objectives, and organize projects.Provide mentorship or leadership to junior engineers, designers, and technicians.Exhibit strong leadership skills, driving efficient and effective project outcomes.Qualifications10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.At least 8 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems.Proven track record in leading high-level design projects from concept through production, with a focus on innovative solutions.Experience in prototyping, production processes, and refining designs based on testing and evaluation.Must be eligible to obtain a gaming licenseSkills and Competencies:In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and practices.Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks.Experience with drafting, BOM creation, and manufacturing processes.Understanding of the ECO release process using Agile or similar PLM systems.Familiarity with shop equipment and hand tools for prototype assembly.Competence in Microsoft Office applications.Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide teams and drive projects to completion.Light & Wonder is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against applicants due to race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
