Job purpose
The Dishwasher is responsible for keeping the kitchen, utensils, dishes, and tools clean and orderly.
Duties and responsibilitiesWash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by handClean garbage cansMaintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly conditionPlace clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areasSort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areasSweep and scrub floorsLoad or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food and suppliesAssist with receiving and storing suppliesStock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad barsTransfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucksAny other tasks assignedQualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferredMust be 15+ years oldAbility to take direction and perform duties efficiently in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate clearly and politely with guests and employees alikeAbility to work well in a team environmentA professional, positive, and enthusiastic attitudeGood interpersonal skills
Working conditions
The Dishwasher position is based primarily inside, but may also be outside exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (10,500+ feet).
Physical requirements
Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift objects that may be heavy.
