Structural Engineer

Responsibilities :Gather, research, and organize project design criteria and parametersDesign foundations and anchorage using custom in-house structural analysis softwareDevelop finite element analysis modelsWork with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and other codesDevelop and draft details based on structural analysis and design resultsDevelop structural reports and memosPrepare engineering calculations and submittal packagesPerform quality control reviews of own and other engineers designsCollaborate or take lead on projects with in-house engineers, project managers, and clientsParticipate in structural engineering and site plan development for projects from planning to completionProvide guidance to entry level project engineersQualifications :Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (with structural design classes)Minimum of 4 years of structural engineering experienceEstablished proficiency with seismic and wind load analysisEstablished proficiency with identifying load paths for various structuresFamiliarity with structural engineering/analysis softwareEstablished working knowledge of building codes (ASCE 7, IBC, ACI, AISC, NDS)Ability to develop and propose design solutions, when faced with structural design challengesAbility to develop design roadmap at the start of projectsAbility to reliably estimate own engineering hours required for designAbility and willingness to learn quicklyEffective organization, task, and time management skillsEffective teamwork skillsEffective communication skills (verbal and written)Attention to detailProficiency with AutoCAD (2D) drafting and structural steel detailing
