As a nationally recognized expert in Justice+Civic facility planning and design, DLR Group serves municipal, county, state, and federal public-sector clients to deliver civic, public safety, and justice design solutions that achieve excellence in operations, sustainable design, resilience planning, space planning, building assessment, cost of ownership analysis, and project management. Position Summary
As a Regional Sector Leader at DLR Group, you will work closely with the Global Justice+Civic Leader, Southwest Region Leader and collaborate with other regional sector based staff to lead the pursuit, award, and execution of work.
What you will do:
Be a collaborative leader who champions equity and works with a wide spectrum of individuals within the region and across the Justice + Civic sector.Act as a leading voice for the Justice +Civic community, visible in speaking events, writing and other activities to amplify DLR Group's design voice.Provide innovative thinking about project approach and delivery, creating an environment that encourages and supports teams and institutions to explore creative design solutions.Be committed to the inclusion and respect of all voices throughout the design and execution of projects-demonstrating the value and impact of comprehensive engagement in the design and planning process.Champion industry thought leadership, seek, and promote excellence in design research, and demonstrate familiarity with institutional evolution and trends.Work closely with Business Development staff to nurture client relationships, develop new business, and secure new clients.Ability to help build a successful practice.Review of projects with managers to ensure quality, efficient and profitable project performance, and implementation.Establish annual business goals, strategies, and tactics in collaboration with the Global Sector Leader and Regional Leader.Provide thought leadership within the firm as well as with clients.Attend industry events, business development events, interviews, and client meetings as required.Identify, review, interview and select potential candidates for sector specific personnel.Lead / participate in career plan reviews for sector-specific staff and business development staff.Provide strategic direction to Sector staff and achieve annual profit and growth goals.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design or equivalent.Professional Licensure.15+ years' experience leading the pursuit and design of commercial projects, preferably, Justice and Civic buildings such as courts, public safety, detention, rehabilitation centers and civic design.Experience with core and shell project design, management, and implementation.Ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices.Excellent written and oral communication skills required.Strong client, project management, and time management skills.Ability to travel as projects require.Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading the design of courts, public safety, and civic buildings.Experience with interior tenant improvement projectsAIA, CID, NCIDQ or equivalent accreditation. LEED accreditationPlanifi and/or Deltek Vantagepoint experienceExperience and interest in sustainable building design
