About the position:
This is a full-time, permanent position. As a Sr. Consultant, Modern Workplace/Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing communication and collaboration solutions for RKON's clients related to mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and divestitures. Additionally, the Sr. Consultant will assist in scoping, planning, and executing email and file migrations from various cloud providers, including M365 / Azure Google Workspace, Slack, and Teams. Knowledge of Windows server infrastructure as well as basic networking is also preferred, as this position will also assist RKON operations to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions for our clients. The ideal candidate for this role will have had 4-5 years of experience in a role acting as a solutions engineer level working with Microsoft 365, endpoint management, and information security & compliance. In addition, you possess strong project management and work planning skills, and the ability to interact with a team.
Responsibilities Include:Technical Engineering:
Responsible for building and implementation of solutions involving M365, Entra AD, and endpoints.Manage the execution of tenant-to-tenant migrations, including migration toolset recommendation and operation.Collaborate cross-functionally within a team, including consultants from our Cloud & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Professional Services, Sales, and Sales Operations practices.Orchestrate knowledge transfer and sharing best practices with team members that help enhance the quality and efficiency of customer service and process management.Develop new opportunities and work with account teams identify, pursue, and close strategic business development.Consulting:
Engage with clients and prospects to understand the nature of their business problem(s), and leverage knowledge and expertise gained over time towards architecting a recommended solution.Participate in presales and scoping efforts to understand scope, cost and complexity, and create statements of work and work breakdown structures with minimal oversight.Leveraging RKON's proven playbook, perform detailed discovery and migration planning.Participate in, as well as lead, discussions with key decision makers related to solutions, risks/challenges, and deployment strategies & timelines.Work through complex Statements of Work (SOW) to determine the appropriate deliverables and outcomes.Create presentations and work products to help facilitate decision making or drive clients & projects towards a desired outcome.Assist with facilitation of change management activities alongside technical task execution.
Technical and Professional Expertise:
4-5 years minimum of similar work experience in a client facing or technology consulting roleDeep understanding of M365 tenants specifically and SaaS applications in generalExtensive experience (10+ projects) planning and executing cloud migrations, including but not limited to:
M365 tenant-to-tenant migrationsEmail migrationsEndpoint migrations (both cloud-to-cloud and on-premises-to-cloud)Voice migrations, including number porting and call queues/auto-attendantsSharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and file share migrations
Experience as an IT Consultant working for an MSP and working with multiple environments is strongly preferredCore technology skills:
Expert level for M365 and Entra AD; Intermediate level for Intune, Teams, and SharePoint/OneDrive
Familiarity with migration tools such as Quest, BitTitan, and AvePointAdditional Preferred Technology Skills (not required): Powershell, Windows Server, MS Exchange, Active Directory Domain ServicesExperience with Google Workspace migrations a plusExcellent organization, communication, project management, and problem-solving skillsEfficiently manage multiple tasks and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentNatural problem-solver and self-starter with demonstrated initiativeExcellent leadership, communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and organizational skillsMust be energetic, self-motivated, and work well in a team environment with the ability to operate independentlyAbility to travel as needed up to 15% of the timeAbility to work after hours and weekends intermittently for project cutovers
