We're Hiring Daytime and Nighttime Psychiatric Hospitalists
In the summer and fall of 2024, we will have up to fifteen Psychiatric Hospitalist faculty positions available as we open the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning on the campus of UWMC-Northwest.
There are currently (5) full-time (0.5-1.0 FTE) faculty positions available. Positions are open rank/title at Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor.
Daytime Psychiatric Hospitalists
will have the opportunities to deliver care to adult inpatients via multi-disciplinary teams, as well as interact with trainees from a variety of different programs. Psychiatrists who prefer a combination of inpatient and outpatient clinical care will have the benefit of on-site telehealth facilities.
Nighttime Psychiatric Nocturnists
will work alongside Hospital Medicine teams and ensure critical attending coverage for our adult inpatient units, our geriatric unit, and our consult service.
Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.
Qualifications
An M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent, current medical licensure, and eligibility for a Washington State medical license.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Instructions
Resume/CV
A statement detailing how your teaching, research, and/or clinical service has supported underrepresented populations across dimensions of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, backgrounds, and interests. Applicants who have not yet had the opportunity for such experience should note how their work will further the Department's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Questions may be directed to Dr. Ryan Kimmel, Chair, Chief of Service, by email to rjkimmel@uw.edu.
Consideration of candidates will continue until the positions are filled.
