The University of California, San Diego, Department of Otolaryngology ( Department Website ) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and seeks to recruit clinical instructors with expertise in audiology.The Department seeks fulltime 12-month clinical instructors who will work clinically, supervise doctoral students in audiology, and teach courses for the SDSU/UCSD Joint AuD Program in San Diego, California, at UCSD, in a university otoneurology/audiology clinic setting.The selected candidates will also be responsible for engaging in ongoing research projects.The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

(required at time of application)Candidates must have an AuD or PhD in a hearing related field.Candidates must have a California license in Audiology and must have or be eligible for a California dispensing license within the first year of employment.Candidates must have at least one year of post graduate experience in diagnostic audiology and hearing aid dispensing or have completed a fulltime fourth year externship.Preferred QualificationsCandidates with a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) are preferred.Candidates with one or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas; evoked potentials, balance assessment, ototoxic monitoring, cochlear implants and other implantable devices, and tinnitus assessment, are also preferred.Application Requirements
