seeks a
Sr. Transit Project Director
to join our team in
Alexandria, VA . The candidate would lead growth of our transit market in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Typical projects and pursuits might include program management engagements, transit or rail projects of regional or national significance, alternative delivery (design-build-operate-maintain) projects, and delivery of varied transit technologies such as Light Rail, modern streetcar and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on behalf of public sector transit and rail clients throughout the Region. Project development including projects in the NEPA/environmental approval phase may be included.
How will you contribute to the team?
Assists management team in identifying staffing needs based on future workload and manpower projections for project staffing. Reviews managers' recommendations to recruit, hire, transfer, or terminate project staff; approves/disapproves or endorses recommendations and presents to senior management for approval as required by established authorization guidelines.
Assists project staff in developing work plans; reviews and approves schedules, budgets, project milestone dates, and work products. Works closely with internal technical professionals to staff projects based on client/project needs.
Responsible for maintaining positive client relations with existing clients and building new relationships. Serves as the single point of contact to the client and acts as a liaison between management and clients on advanced program related issues.
Conducts contract negotiations with clients and sub-consultants. Develops and recommends operational budgets for approval by senior management.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
What will you contribute?
Bachelor's degree in field of practice. Post graduate degree preferred. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus. This level may be achieved by technical professionals or technical managers with 15 years of experience since B.S., with at least three of these years in positions with project management or supervisory responsibilities.
Excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage individuals and teams, provide leadership, and manage project production.
P.E. is required.
