The future of Integrated Training Systems is being built, operated, and delivered at HII. HII-Mission Technologies (HII-MT) is currently hiring a mid-level Systems Engineer, Test 2 with integrated training systems experience (ITS), designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment. The selected candidate will support the Integrated Training Systems-Systems Engineering contract for the ITS In-Service Engineering Agent located in Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division’s Damneck Activity Virginia Beach, VA.

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements

Education: High School or GED Diploma

Experience: At least three (3) years of full-time professional experience, one year of which must have been in support of a major shipboard combat and/or training system providing quality independent verification and validation (IV&V) expertise in the task areas specified in the SOW. Cyber-Information Technology (IT)/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Basic Level knowledge and skills, at a minimum, with a certification in IA standards and policies.

Eligibility: US Citizen with ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance

Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl around and lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds in the test environment.

Certifications: Possess a COMTIA Security Plus certification.

Desired Experience Requirements

Naval Surface Combat System Aegis or Ship Self Defense System experience

What You Will Do

Executes testing of complex training and simulation systems and subsystems.

Test planning of complex operational and engineering interoperability tests composed of components from Navy, Joint and Coalition systems.

Supports any variation of system engineering, verification and validation test development, integration, and interoperability assessment and certification testing.

Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.

Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.

Displays basic knowledge of electronic media, local area networks and associated accessories.

Executes additional duties as tasked by Govt leads.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant experience.

Possess an active Security + certification

US Citizen with ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance

Preferred Requirements

Naval Surface Combat System Aegis or Ship Self Defense System experience

Physical RequirementsOffice, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
